Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Premium and Lite Warranty?

The scope of cover is identical; the periods differ. The Premium Warranty provides 3 years parts & labour, 1 year collect & return and 1 year of labour-free upgrade fitting. The Lite Warranty provides 1 year parts & labour and 6 months collect & return, and does not include labour-free upgrade fitting. Lifetime phone and email support applies to both.

Which warranty does my PC have, and when does it start?

Cover runs from the date the system is delivered or received, not the date the order was placed. Systems bought before 1st August 2026 are covered under the Lite Warranty terms (1 year parts & labour and 6 months collect & return), measured from their own delivery date. From 1st August 2026, the badge on the product page states which warranty a PC carries: Killer PCs and most Gorilla Gaming builds carry the Premium Warranty, while Lite builds and systems specified through the configurator carry the Lite Warranty. If you are unsure, contact us with your order number and we will confirm which applies. Lifetime phone and email technical support applies to both, regardless of when you bought.

Do I need to keep the box?

Yes. Collect & return requires the system to be packed in its original box and internal packaging, so keep both for at least the length of your collect & return cover: 1 year on the Premium Warranty, 6 months on the Lite Warranty. Replacement packaging is available to purchase if the original has been damaged or disposed of. Transit damage is not covered where a system has been packed incorrectly or inadequately. The service covers UK Mainland and Northern Ireland only. Once the collect & return period ends, parts and labour cover continues for the remainder of its term, but carriage to and from the workshop, and adequate packaging, become your responsibility.

How are upgrades covered?

Every part we supply is recorded by serial number, and the system warranty covers those original components only. Changing or adding parts does not by itself end that cover, but anything you fit yourself is outside the warranty, and any damage caused while fitting it voids the warranty on the system. Upgrade components bought from Computer Orbit carry the manufacturer’s own warranty rather than the system warranty. On a Premium Warranty system, fitting and testing of SSDs, RAM, CPUs and GPUs bought from us is labour-free for the first year. You pay for the component, and for shipping to and from the workshop. An added SSD is fitted as additional storage; cloning and Windows reinstallation are not included. On a Lite Warranty system, fitting is quoted at the standard labour rate.

What if no fault is found, or a drive fails?

A diagnostic fee, plus return shipping, may be charged where no fault is found, or where the reported fault is caused by something outside the terms of the warranty. If storage needs replacing, the replacement itself is covered. Backing up, transferring or recovering the data held on it is not. Back up anything important before sending a system in.

Can I cancel or return my order?

Ready-to-go PCs may be cancelled within 14 days. Built-to-order systems may not; this includes anything specified through the configurator and any custom build. Faults reported within 30 days of delivery are handled under the Computer Orbit returns policy rather than the warranty process above. The following conditions apply to cancellations:

  • Only ready-to-go PCs are eligible.
  • All items must be returned, including accessories, promotional items, extras and the original packaging.
  • Redeemed software is deducted at full retail price.
  • Every system is inspected on return. A handling charge applies where there are signs of use beyond what is required to examine it.
  • Return postage and packaging are the customer’s responsibility.
  • Returns are declined where components do not match the original build by serial number.
